OBSCURE REVEAL, KATRIN DOHSE, 2015 2016
Obscure/Reveal is a polarity I use in all my art making, and I would venture to suggest that it is present in all art making on the planet. I am reminded of Pablo Picassos quote: "Every act of creation is first an act of destruction." This polarity was particularly on my mind during these shoots and post-production work.
I worked with model Katrin Dohse for this series. We made several visits over the course of two years to an abandoned open-air warehouse in the mountains of western North Carolina. I shot promiscuously and spent substantial time manipulating the images in Adobe Photoshop. The entire series contains 147 images.
