Old Downtown, Unconscious DBQ, 2020

Carpentersville, Illinois was founded in the mid-nineteenth century. A water-powered factory was at its heart. The profits from the factory allowed for the building of an attractive library, church and school.

In the 1950s suburban homes and a shopping mall were built nearby and went by the name of Meadowdale. However, it was in the Carpentersville postal region and so the original old neighborhood became known locally as Old Carpentersville.
