ABANDON, 2011

Smoke is a fine metaphor for my art. After smoke accidently entered a photograph I began playing with this and found success using reverse and double imaging in post-production. For most of these images my intentions were very clear. I had experimented with smoke a dozen times and knew about these possible resonances (the creation of faces and such), so I intended strong images that were portraits, even as I made no effort to control how that would happen. This series exemplifies how the invisible and the unconscious manifest in my images.

My first series of this sort was created in 2016 and consists of 15 images. You can find it nearer the bottom of the portolio list, among those from 2016.
